Here’s what we did to ship motorcycles overseas in a more efficient way:
1. Added more export loading warehouses throughout the USA. This means that we can save money on the pick up cost from the sellers by moving your bike to the closest loading warehouse.
2. Once the motorcycle is delivered to the warehouse it gets crated to prevent any damages during the international transportation. The fuel will be drained and battery disconnected if it hasn’t been already done by the seller.
3. Motorcycle gets loaded inside the intermodal container and sent by rail to the port in Los Angeles. This results in large savings on the shipping cost because the cost of rail is cheaper than cost of trucking plus the customer pays only partial cost based on the space that motorcycle is taking inside the container.
4. Same thing applies to the cost of the ocean freight. By being able to offer “shared container service” to overseas destinations we can offer lower rates to our customers. Once the container with your motorcycle sails from the port in Los Angeles it will go to Hong Kong first and then your bike will be reloaded into another container destined to its final destination. This way of handling the international motorcycle shipping guarantees weekly sailings from USA and improved time of transit.
5. This routing system allows us to service many ports in different countries: Australia and New Zealand, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, plus Southeast Asia: Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam.
